PyeongChang 2018, North Korea, and Peace on the Korean Peninsula: An Insider's Perspective

Norwich University Peace and War Center will host Yonghyon Kim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea, on February 14, 2018.

Consul General Yonghyon Kim will give a lecture to Norwich students on “PyeongChang 2018, North Korea, and Peace on the Korean Peninsula: An Insider's Perspective.”

Yonghyon Kim serves as Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Boston. A career diplomat, he brings thirty years of diplomatic expertise and experience to his office, which he assumed in December 2017.

PyeongChang hosts the XXIII Olympic Winter Games, Feb. 9-25, 2018. An international athletics competition, PyeongChang 2018 is also significant because of ongoing displays of unity occurring among Olympic athletes from the Republic of Korea (“South Korea”) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (“North Korea”) after months of tension on the Korean Peninsula.
